Community group Holmes Chapel Partnership and Holmes Chapel Parish Council invited local residents to take part in our annual Walk to School event on Thursday 6th June.
This is the fourth year we have run this event in Holmes Chapel in conjunction with Living Streets, the UK charity of everyday walking.
This was a new date after our 23rd May date was postponed due to the Amber Weather Warning that was in place for Holmes Chapel and we need to keep participants safe. The roads are tricky enough as it is!
Our thankfully dry walk was well attended by local school children, teachers, residents and Parish Councillors. Thanks also to the local FireFighters who accompanied us to help us cross the busy roads. Together, we are continuing to campaign for safer walking routes through our village.
The theme this year was ‘The Magic of Walking’ so we invited people to dress up with magical accessories for the walk.
Thank you to Gail Griggs for the photographs.
