Holmes Chapel Christmas Market Delivers Festive Success

The annual Holmes Chapel Christmas Market was a resounding success, bringing together the local community to celebrate a positive year for the village.

Organised by local voluntary group, Holmes Chapel Partnership, this year’s event was officially opened by Congleton’s newly elected MP, Sarah Russell.

From handmade crafts to delicious treats, the event on 1 December saw the village centre come to life with bustling stalls, festive food and drink, a funfair plus a full schedule of entertainment provided by local schools and clubs.

Stallholders at the market were carefully selected from the local area, ensuring a vibrant mix of offerings. Among them was Congleton based charity Visyon, a stalwart participant in the market for several years. Visyon’s stall not only showcased their mental health support services but also raised crucial funds to further their impactful work.

Linda, a representative from Visyon, expressed her gratitude: “Congratulations to Holmes Chapel Partnership on another fantastic event. We had a great time connecting with the community, but more importantly, we raised vital funds to support the mental health of children and young people right here in our local area. Thank you for having us as part of your event!”

Holmes Chapel business owner and resident Andie Cooper of Bloom Florist was equally delighted commenting at the close of the event: “That was phenomenal for my business.  How amazing the Partnership have organised the market. Seriously impressed and all the stewards were so friendly and helpful.”

Local business owner, Liz from The Village Kitchen commented: ‘It was another fantastic Christmas Market in Holmes Chapel, which is always a great day in the village’s calendar. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.”

The market was the culmination of a busy year for Holmes Chapel Partnership which has worked tirelessly welcoming thousands of Harry Styles fans to village via its newly launched Harry’s Home Village Tour.

“This has been our busiest year ever at the Partnership, with Harry’s Home Village Tour attracting global media attention alongside visitors from as far afield as Australia and Bangladesh,” commented Peter Whiers, chair of Holmes Chapel Partnership. “The Christmas Market exemplifies and celebrates the incredible community collaboration in Holmes Chapel. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has participated, attended, and championed Partnership activities this year. Your efforts are vital in supporting our local economy and village organisations. And we’re not quite finished yet, as we are helping Santa’s Sleigh visit streets in and around Holmes Chapel throughout December.

“If anyone is interested in volunteering with the Partnership next year, we would love to have you join us. Members can volunteer as much of their time as they chose and make a significant difference in continuing to grow and support our vibrant community.”
