Sunday 7th May - THE BIG LUNCH
We invited the village to bring a picnic or purchase food from local hospitality venues and celebrate the Coronation in the historic centre of the village between 1.30 and 3pm.
We closed London Road, and set out tables down the centre of the village for you to enjoy your picnic with friends and family. A brass band, roaming magician and balloon artist provided entertainment you as we celebrated this momentous occasion. Face painting was also available for children over the age of 3.
The road closure started 11am to allow time to set up. From 12.30pm the Church Bells rang out to gather people to the Big Lunch. The Town Crier officially opened the event at 1pm. The road will reopened at 5pm.
