About the Role
The SpeedWatch Team meets on a regular basis (usually weekly or fortnightly) to check the speed of vehicles travelling along Macclesfield Road into the village.
With more volunteers we can cover more roads!
Full training and high-vis will be provided.
We track the traffic in half hour or hourly sessions depending on volunteer availability. In any half hour there are usually around 8 vehicles who are breaking the speed limit so this is a really important and effective role in terms of road safety.
We would like to get out there more often - we are told our presence definitely slows the traffic down! However there aren’t enough of us on the rota.
Please get in touch if you share our aims: email info@hcpartnership.org.uk for more information.
Commitment
The SpeedWatch team meet weekly or fortnightly during term time for one hour sessions.
About Us
Holmes Chapel is a great place to live and we would like to make it even better. We have outstanding schools, good connectivity to major employment hubs, and our village is located in the beautiful rural setting of East Cheshire.
But there's always room for improvement and we'd like to think that together we can make this happen. With more people coming to live in our village, The Holmes Chapel Partnership would like to cast our net wide and capture some of the talents we have living here. So if you have just moved into Holmes Chapel, or have lived here for years, we would like to meet you.
If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to get involved in helping your local community and to meet new people, there are many ways in which you can be involved in volunteering for the village.
